Always wanted to make shortbread yourself? It’ s easy now with the Dr. Oetker Shortbread Chocolate & Caramel mix! A delicious cookie base, a layer of firm caramel and finished off with a delightful layer of chocolate.
Preparation: start with boiling water, then pour it into a bowl and place the packet of chocolate icing in it. Make sure that the bag remains under water and at the same time fold in the enclosed baking tin. Melt 50g of butter and 1 tablespoon of suger syrup in a pan. As soon as the butter has melted, let it simmer for another minute, but stay close. Remove the pan from the heat and stir the bottom mix through the melted butter and syrup until an even mass is formed. Spread this warm dough evenly over the base of the baking tin and press it down firmly with the rounded side of a spoon. Place the baking tin in the fridge. Melt 50g of butter and 5 tablespoons of suger syrup in a pan. As soon as the butter has melted, let it simmer for another minute, but stay nearby. Remove the pan from the heat and stir the caramel sauce mix through the melted butter and syrup until an even mass is formed. Take the baking tin with the base out of the fridge and spread the caramel sauce evenly over it. Now take the packet of chocolate glaze out of the water and knead it well. Cut open the top of the packet and pour the melted chocolate glaze evenly over the caramel sauce. To cover the corners well with the glaze, you can carefully tilt the baking tin. Place the baking tin in the fridge for at least 1 hour. To serve, cut the shortbread into 16 pieces.
