Gold Leaf is best applied to a surface that is slightly tacky but not wet. If you are working with a firm medium such as fondant, use a food safe paint brush to lightly moisten the desired area with a small amount of water. The surface should feel sticky to the touch, not damp.
To apply the sheet, carefully place the gold leaf face down onto your decorated surface. Gently rub the back of the sheet to help the leaf adhere, then slowly peel it away to reveal a smooth and elegant edible finish.
