FMM Tappit Cutters are perfect for cutting out letters, numbers or shapes from fondant, gum paste or flower paste. Follow the steps below for the best results:

  • Preferably use gum paste, flower paste, or fondant mixed with Tylo powder or CMC.
  • Roll out very thinly on a surface dusted with cornflour or icing sugar, to less than 1mm, so thin you can almost see through it.
  • Allow to air dry for a few minutes before cutting. This prevents the paste from being too sticky.
  • Press the Tappit cutter firmly into the gum paste, flower paste or fondant.
  • Gently rub over the top or roll over it with a small rolling pin to cut out the shape cleanly.
  • Tap the Tappit cutter against a hard edge (e.g., the edge of a table or countertop). If rolled thin enough and dried properly before cutting, the shape will fall out easily. If not, use a cocktail stick to gently release it.
  • Let the decorations dry briefly.
  • Attach them to your cakes, cupcakes or cookies with edible glue or water.

Tips for the best results!

  • Lightly dust the cutter with cornflour to prevent sticking.
  • Work on a smooth surface for sharp edges.
